Kids Parties

It's not all jelly and ice-cream

Kids Parties Swindon
Keeping the little ones happy is never easy, but nothing gets them more excited than a party.

There are plenty of options, including a home party or taking them all to The Jolly Roger adventure in Swindon which specialises in children's parties and activities.

Either way, if you want to organise a party that won't involve too much time, effort and expense and one that won't be forgotten as soon as its time to go home, then read on.

1. Make sure you send out the invitations at least two weeks before the party date. Ask for RSVP's by a specified date.

2. Plan a safe, comfortable place for the party. One where the children can have fun and not hurt themselves or your home. If planning an outdoor party be sure to have a backup plan in case of bad weather.

3. Think of a theme. Fancy dress is always good fun.

4. Limiting the party time to 1hr 30 mins or less for children under six of age is probably a good idea. Boredom and crying (especially amongst the grown-ups) tends to set in after this time. Up to two hours is fine for older children.

5. Keep the little cherubs busy with plenty of activities.

6.
Think about having a quiet area for small children who may feel overwhelmed by the party experience.

7. Have plenty of juice to hand as children often get very thirsty when they get excited.

8. Include the birthday child in preparations as often as possible. Have them help choose the party theme, make suggestions for games, help with the decorations, set the table, and write and send the invitations.

9. Take plenty of photographs. If possible nominate one adult as roving photographer.

10. Try to ensure that everyone has a chance to win something. Perhaps you could make some medals and have a ceremony at the end to give each child a medal. Think up some silly reasons for awarding the medal (e.g. best fancy dress, fastest eater, most helpful child, cheekiest smile, best dancer etc.)
